

If later you decide you would rather have each kit piece go out to a separate track channel so that you can EQ and Compress with your favorite plugins, right click on the SD2 name in the FX box for your track and choose "Build multichannel routing for output of selected FX" and reaper will automatically build all the track channels and assign the outputs.

This isn't the most flexible way but it will do the job. With this single track approach you will have to use the mixer of SD2 to adjust EQ and compression for each piece of the kit. Just create a new track and drag and drop SD2 from the FX browser onto it.

If you want one track in which all of SD2 plays out of a single stereo channel then you don't really have to add a virtual instrument track.
